You're Not Alone!

Therapy can be scary, but it doesn't have to be. It is ultimately for the betterment of your mental health! One method of therapy that people find useful is group therapy. It can be very beneficial to hear other people speak about their struggles in order to help you with your own. With group therapy, there is less pressure on individuals. A sense of community can be especially important when you are struggling with mental health.

-

This form of care can be useful for many things, including but not limited to: addiction, PTSD, and grief.

-

People who struggle with addiction and their loved ones can both benefit from group therapy. It can help to form an understanding between each side that may otherwise be difficult. Seeing the world from others' perspectives can help us to become more empathic and to work more purposefully on addressing our struggles.

-

Grief can often lead to isolation. While distancing ourselves from others may be easier, connections with others are more important than ever during these times. Group therapy will reinforce the sense of community that you need. Interacting with others who are grieving can be comforting and reduce the need to isolate.

-

Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, can be treated with group therapy as well. Group therapy in this case is focused on coping. While everyone may have differing reasons for their PTSD, coping is universal. It can also be good to see how others are coping, and once again, to feel less alone in your struggles.
